CLA
Copyright Licensing Agency - represents the ALCS, DACS, and the PLS and grants licences on their behalf
PLS
Publisher's Licensing Society - jointly owns CLA, and distributes money to publishers
ALCS
Authors' Licensing and Collecting Society - jointly owns CLA and distributes money to authors
DACS
Design and Artists Copyright Society - distributes money to authors, but has a management role only in CLA
RRO
Reproduction Rights Organisation - a general name for collective collection
bodies all over the world which are similar to CLA

HESA
Higher Education Statistics Agency - the official agency for the collection, analysis and dissemination of quantitative information about higher education.
