EditDivision of Money Received from Licences
This page shows how the money is allocated to between authors, artists and publishers.

Net fees received from CLA are divided as follows:
Books:
50:50 between the publisher (via PLS) and the author (via the Author's Licensing and Collecting Society).
Journals:
85% to the publisher
Fees originally scheduled for distribution before the new bipartite agreement between ALCS and PLS was finalised follw the serials declaration splits of 100:00 or 75:25 that were in effect before the new agreement.

The royalties allocated to each UK published title is divided between PLS, ALCS and DACS in these proportions:
• books - 46:46:8
• magazines and journals - 78.2:13.8:8
• non-UK publications - 100% to the relevant foreign

Where no information is available about the titles that have been copied, PLS allocates the revenue received from CLA using a calculation based, where possible, on the fees received from each UK sector in the 12 months prior to the date of the distribution so the amounts allocated to individual mandating publishers are based on the total fees received in those distributions.
