Money for Foreign Titles

When CLA distributes fees it also allocates money to foreign reproduction rights organisations (RRO's), or puts it into country holding-accounts.

The CLA board recently decided that CLA should release some fees (£988k) that had been allocated to countries without an RRO and with whom there was no foreseeable prospect of an agreement. This amount represented the balance held up to the end of CLA’s financial year to March 2006.

CLA has allocated this amount in proportion to the average fee allocation to the UK and other RRO organisations from the date of CLA's earliest distribution until March 2006.

PLS has allocated the fees (£458k) to publishers receiving money from PLS distributions of UK fees from October 2001 to March 2006.
